What does WOP (without prejudice) mean?

An insurer may choose to deal with your claim on a without prejudice (WOP) basis. This means they will agree to deal with your claim in order to limit the costs of the claim, but without admitting liability. Since they are not admitting liability, if evidence emerges that they have reached the wrong decision, they could dispute liability and change their view and seek reimbursement of monies already paid.
