I am not happy with my valuation

The valuation is subject to change and not set in stone!

What can I do if I’m not happy with the valuation?

If you aren’t happy with the valuation placed on your vehicle then there is a process you can follow, this is called the substantiation process.

What is the substantiation process, and what do I need to do?

If you aren’t happy with the valuation placed on your vehicle, you can dispute it. However, you would need to provide sufficient evidence to support any uplift in valuation you are seeking. The evidence you provide would need to be in the form of private trade adverts for the same car as your own. We recommend using websites such as Auto Trader. The adverts would need to be for vehicles of the same make, model, age and mileage within 10,000 miles. *The evidence will need to be emailed as screenshots to info@ax-uk.com and not links as these can expire.

My vehicle has previously been deemed a total loss, does it affect the value of my car?

If your car was previously a total loss then this will impact it’s current value. Engineers would usually deduct a percentage to accommodate this. If this has happened and you still wish to dispute the valuation, then any evidence you provide would also need to take this into consideration.
