AX has announced a significant expansion of its replacement vehicle fleet with the purchase of new Toyota and Lexus models, reinforcing its commitment to keeping drivers mobile following an incident.
The investment will see AX grow its pool of high-quality replacement vehicles across its depots nationwide, ensuring customers receive timely and appropriate onward mobility after an accident.
Under the agreement, AX will add 400 British-built Toyota Corolla hybrid vehicles to its fleet, supporting the automotive sector by boosting domestic production, as well as 40 Toyota RAV4 plug-in hybrid (PHEV) models. The deal also includes Lexus RX plug-in hybrid vehicles to enhance customer choice in the premium SUV segment.
While the latest Toyota additions are mostly hybrid vehicles, AX continues to operate an extensive range of battery electric vehicles within its fleet after adding hundreds of EVs in 2025. This ensures the longstanding specialist delivers on its EV-for-EV promise, providing EV replacements for electric vehicle drivers.
The introduction of new hybrid and ICE models ensures AX’s fleet reflects the current UK car parc. By adding vehicles that mirror those driven on UK roads, AX can ensure the right vehicle is available at the right time for customers following an incident.
“The decision by AX to add Toyota and Lexus vehicles with different powertrains to their customer fleet, reflects our own philosophy of providing a multipath powertrain future. No one technology suits every customer so it makes sense to provide a broad choice.
With our colleagues at Kinto providing funding and the bulk of the order consisting of British built Corollas, we look forward to building our relationship with AX in the future with a range of new models and powertrains we are launching in 2026.”Neil Broad, General Manager One Toyota Fleet Services
The partnership further cements the relationship between AX, Toyota and Lexus, with additional vehicles expected to join the fleet in the future as AX continues to invest in its fleet and service excellence for its customers.
“This latest investment is about putting the customer first. By expanding our fleet with a broad mix of ICE, hybrid, plug-in hybrid and electric vehicles, we can meet drivers’ needs quickly and effectively, whatever they drive. Working closely with Toyota and Lexus allows us to deliver reliable, high-quality vehicles while future-proofing our fleet for the changing UK market.
